Conversion: Check!

The Tahoe is ready! Parkway Chevrolet in Tomball, Texas has completed the conversion by installing the compressed natural gas (CNG) conversion kit. Parkway recently became certified in natural gas vehicle (CNG) conversions and can do them on site at their facilities.

After a thorough walk through of the vehicle’s features and a peak under the hood, I was ready to take it off their hands!

    What's the average cost to convert a standard gasoline engine vehicle to CNG?

    Hi Dave, thanks for the comment. It really depends on the vehicle but this link to a conversion company in Austin has a good price list available on their homepage: http://www.cleanfuelconversions.com/

    Two things to keep in mind (1) not all cars can be converted. There must be an existing EPA-certified kit for your vehicle available. (2) Their are two types of kits: dual-fuel and dedicated. A dual-fuel can run on either natural gas or regular gasoline. Dedicated vehicles can only run on natural gas but they are eligible for a federal tax credit (the amount depends on the type of car but for most passenger cars it will be $4,500.) Hope that helps!
